The Federación Mexicana de Fútbol (FMF) announced the 21 players that will travel to Japan to play against Nadeshiko Japan. The match is set to take place on June 13 at Kanseki Stadium in Tochigi Prefecture, which is the home of J2 League side Tochigi SC. The game will be part of the MS & AD Cup 2021 series. The players are as follows:

Goalkeepers: Emily Alvarado (Texas Christian University), Cecilia Santiago (PSV Eindhoven)

Defenders: Jimena López (SD Eibar), Jocelyn Orejel (América), Reyna Reyes (University of Alabama), Kenti Robles (Real Madrid), Kim Rodríguez (Oklahoma State University), Karina Rodríguez (University of California, Los Angeles), Bianca Sierra (Tigres UANL)

Midfielders: Nancy Antonio (Tigres UANL), Rebeca Bernal (Monterrey), Belén Cruz (Tigres UANL), Nayeli Díaz (St. Mary’s College), Carolina Jaramillo (Guadalajara), Joseline Montoya (Guadalajara), Jacqueline Ovalle (Tigres UANL), Maricarmen Reyes (University of California, Los Angeles)

Forwards: Alicia Cervantes (Guadalajara), Alison González (Atlas), Stephany Mayor (Tigres UANL), Kiana Palacios (Real Sociedad)

Head Coach Mónica Vergara has again called on a team that has a good mix of players based in México, players in the NCAA college system, and players who play abroad. This is one of the stronger squads Vergara could have called up, and it will be interesting to see how they fare against a team like Nadeshiko, who are currently ranked 11th in the world.
