East Hartford is about two hours from New York City and about an hour and a half from Boston and has been the host of several high-profile soccer matches. It most recently served as the home of Toronto FC during the 2020 Major League Soccer season since travelling back and forth between Canada was stopped due to the global pandemic.
These matches signify another step for México in playing some of the top teams in the world, and you can’t get more of a top team than the number one ranked, two-time defending World Cup Champions. It will be a good measuring stick for México, especially since the two teams are all but guaranteed to meet in competitive play during Concacaf qualification for the 2023 World Cup.
