Santos Laguna announced their matches this weekend for the Femenil team and Fuerzas Básicas U17 and U20 teams had all been postponed due to an outbreak of the SARS-CoV-2 novel coronavirus (COVID-19). A press release from the club explained that there were “10 positive cases on the women’s team, in addition to one person on the staff; in the set of Fuerzas Bésicas there are fifteen cases and four in staff.”

Santos Femenil also missed the first two matches of the 2020 Guard1anes after an outbreak of COVID-19, forcing the team to make up their Jornada 2 match against Rayadas on August 26 and their Jornada 1 match against Pumas on September 2. Las Guerreras lost the match against Monterrey 2-1 but wound up beating Pumas 1-0 in dramatic fashion.

The Femenil match against Puebla which was originally scheduled for Monday will now be played on Monday, February 22nd. Both the U17 and U20 matches will be played but no date has yet been confirmed. The men’s match against Cruz Azul will go on as scheduled this Sunday at 7:00 pm local time.
