Mexico played its first European friendly in like 500 years it seems like last Wednesday against the Netherlands, a familiar foe to El Tri for all the wrong reasons.
The #NoEraPenal controversy is still at the front of Mexican fans’ minds even six years later. It may never leave us, unfortunately.
This time, however, Mexico came out on top with a Raul Jimenez penalty (something Antonio predicts correctly on the podcast) and with several El Tri players looking very good under Tata’s system, ESPECIALLY Jesus Tecatito Corona, but ya’ll knew about that.
Can we say Tecatito is by far the most talented player Mexico has in its player pool, yet?

On the show, Antonio is joined by Michael Statham, a writer for FootballOranje, which covers Dutch football in English. We talk about both of our ex-Atlanta United coaches, the squads, players to watch and even ask some questions about the European perspective of the Mexican player and Liga MX.
Naturally, we also talk about that infamous 2014 World Cup game and Michael admits it was indeed a big flop from Arjen Robben. Tell me something I don’t know.
