It’s the talk of the town this week. On Monday, Chivas announced that winter signing Victor Guzman was released from the team over a failed anti-doping test back in August when he was still playing for Pachuca.

The Guadalajara team also announced the 24-year-old, who in the past had been linked to Europe, would go back to Pachuca and Chivas would receive a refund.

It’s a serious situation embroiling one of Mexico’s most promising domestic players who had at one point the world at his feet. It now seems that this situation, if FIFA/WADA continue to suspend the player, could derail his career and his European stock.

There are a lot of unanswered questions and background controversy: why did the drug test take place in Cuba? Why did it take so long for the results? Did Pachuca know? Did the FMF? The Mexican national team? Was it right for Chivas to release him? Who will Chivas buy now? What is Guzman saying about this?

Have no fear, Antonio and Nes link up on this episode of the FMF State of Mind Podcast to answer all of those questions and make their own predictions as to what really happened and what will happen next for all parties involved.
