It’s not exactly the way both teams wanted to arrive, but on Saturday, Club América and Chivas face off in another edition of the Clásico Nacional.
It’s no secret, both teams are struggling right now. Las Águilas arrive to this game winless in their last six games and have vastly underperformed through the course of the last few weeks. But if it’s underperforming we are talking about, Chivas arrive in full crisis mode after the club decided to part ways with manager Tomas Boy following their midweek defeat to Pachuca. Chivas are a complete mess right now and the hope now is newly appointed manager Luis Fernando Tena can bring some sort of stability starting with a match against their biggest rival.
Of course, for all the criticism these two teams carry ahead of a match of this magnitude, most of it will be thrown to the trash at the initial whistle. Clásicos are clásicos, and you have to play them to win them.
