Call it what you want to call it. Los Angeles Football Club and the LA Galaxy will clash for a second time this season as the “Black and Gold” seek their first ever win over their cross-town rivals.
There is no better team in MLS than LAFC, just as there is no better player in MLS than Carlos Vela. LAFC are currently leading the Supporters’ Shield race with 61 points, while Carlos Vela has looked practically unstoppable in his second full season in Major League Soccer.
There is just one teeny tiny problem. LAFC have never been able to defeat the LA Galaxy. In four previous meetings between these two teams, the Galaxy have remained undefeated, earning two wins and two draws. Their latest victory being a 3-2 win back in Week 20.
In front of their home crowd and in a venue in which they haven’t lost a single game this MLS season, will this finally be the day LAFC get their long-awaited win over Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Jonathan dos Santos and the Galaxy?
