The reigning Major League Soccer champion, Atlanta United, take on Club América, current winners of the Campeón de Campeones Cup, in only the second edition ever of the Campeones Cup.

We aren’t talking about just two winners in their respective league, we are talking about arguably two of the most talented teams in all of North America. On the one side, Atlanta United have picked up the pace in recent weeks and arrive on the back of three straight wins. Meanwhile, despite a colorful last few days in the transfer window, Club América have managed to stay steady and are unbeaten this semester across six matches.

What can perhaps make this game an obstacle for Las Águilas is just how tough to beat Atlanta United have been at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The defending MLS Cup champs have lost just once in their last 30 official matches at home.

However, if there is some good news for América is that last year Tigres were able to win this Cup away from home rather convincingly, beating Toronto FC 3-1. Will Club América be able to do something similar this time around?
