All-time record: Tigres holds the all-time record, winning four regular season matches to Monterrey’s two, with the clubs drawing twice. The only time the clubs have faced one another in the Liguilla was the 2018 Clausura, where the teams ended 4-4 at the end of regulation and Tigres winning 4-2 on penalties.

Tigres comes into this series red hot, beating Puebla and Club América to get the the Final. Forward Katty Martínez has scored five goals in the Liguilla and Lizbeth Ovalle has also been dangerous, assisting on three of Martínez’ goals and scoring one of her own. While Tigres’ offense has gotten the most attention, their defense has been solid as well. Goalkeeper Ofelia Solís and the defense has conceded just two goals so far in the Liguilla.

Monterrey beat Pumas rather easily but struggled to get past Pachuca, relying on an own goal and the away goal rule to advance to the final. But they made it, and are a quality side. Desirée Monsiváis has five goals so far in the Liguilla. While Monsiváis and Diana Evangelista are the ones most often on the scoresheet, midfielder Dinora Garza is one of the best two-way players in the league and her contributions should not be overlooked.
