Gerardo “Tata” Martino, who joined back in January, will be in charge of his first official tournament with El Tri, where the goal will be for Mexico to lift their historic eighth title.
The group stage is set to begin on June 15, with Mexico taking on Cuba at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. El Tri will then travel to Denver on June 19 to face Canada before closing the group stage four days later against Martinique in Charlotte.
Elsewhere, Costa Rica were paired with Haiti, Nicaragua and Bermuda, while Honduras were handed one of the more difficult draws. Los Catrachos, one of the top-ranked teams in the region, will face one of the host teams Jamaica, as well as Curaçao and El Salvador.
The defending champions, United States Men’s National Team, will not have an easy path into the Quarterfinals either, as they were grouped with Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago and Panama.
