It all kicks off this Tuesday as another edition of the CONCACAF Champions League gets underway with Deportivo Saprissa hosting Tigres UANL.

Ricardo “Tuca” Ferretti’s men have enjoyed a hot start to their Liga MX season where they are currently second in the standings with 16 points. For the Felinos, this will be their third straight participation in a CONCACAF Champions League, having failed to lift the trophy on every occasion prior.

Like Tigres, Deportivo Saprissa have looked good this semester. The Costa Rican giants are second in the league standings with 20 points and arrive on the back of a 4-2 win over the league leaders, Grecia.

On the injury front, there is some bad news for Tigres, who will be without star striker Andre-Pierre Gignac. The Frenchman didn’t make the trip to the Costa Rican capital after suffering a small knock during last weekend’s win over Necaxa. Joining Gignac on the sidelines are Guido Pizarro, Lucas Zelarayan, and Jurgen Damm.
