Mexico announced a three game tour for their U18 team during the FIFA break as well as the call up list for the tour. Under coach Raul Chabrand, Mexico will take advantage of the break and start the process towards the 2021 U20 World Cup qualifiers, and hopefully later the U20 World Cup. Mexico will start their tour on November 14th against AZ Alkmaar’s U18 team. They will then face the U18 team of the Czech Republic on Saturday, November 16th. They will finish their tour facing hosts The Netherlands on Tuesday, November 19th also against the U18 team.

The call up list to the games is the following:

Goalkeepers: Victor Mendoza (Tijuana), Fernando Tapia (America)

Defenders: Santiago Roman (Puebla), Jesus Mejia (UNAM), Oscar Villa (Leon), Javier Casillas (Monterrey), Jose Castillo (Pachuca), Ramon Juarez (America)

Midfielders: Amaury Garcia (UNAM) , Ricardo Monreal (Necaxa), Jonathan Herrera (Atlas), Raul Castillo (Pachuca), Julian Vasquez (Real Salt Lake), Ettson Ayon (Tijuana), Diego Medina (Santos), Gerson Vasquez (Queretaro), Santiago Naveda (America)

Forwards: Santiago Gimenez (Cruz Azul), Emanuel Montejano (Pumas), Eduardo Banda (Monterrey)

Of the notable call ups are players like Cruz Azul’s Santiago Gimenez (son of ex player Christian Gimenez) and Pumas promise Amaury Garcia, though the rest of the squad is composed of mostly unknown players.

They will have a tough test in all three matches as Mexico prepares to have a more successful U20 tenure than the last one.
