Like a Veracruz scandal or a Jose Juan Macias goal, the FMF State of Mind Podcast is back in consecutive weeks.
FMFSOM’s Antonio Tinajero and Nestor Esquivel link up to talk all the latest in El Tri and Liga MX news.
First, they tackle Mexico’s first two Nations League matches against Bermuda and Panama. El Tri traveled to the Caribbean island first and defeated the Gombey Warriors 5-1 in an effective yet uninspired rout. After that, Tata Martino’s men faced Panama in a near-empty Estadio Azteca and almost drew the game if not for two late goals from Leon’s J.J. Macias and Monterrey’s Rodolfo Pizarro.
The guys look at what went right for Mexico, what went wrong, who stuck out, who didn’t and even talk about how things are going for their confederation rivals USMNT (not good).

The discussion continues as they talk about the possibility of former Mexico international turned famed executive Ricardo Pelaez joining Chivas and the concerns/upsides surrounding the hire.
The guys also touch on the tumultuous situation in Veracruz straight out of an episode of Club de Cuervos where players have confirmed they’re not getting paid and may possibly choose to strike for Friday’s game against Tigres UANL. The discussion includes quotes from Liga MX President Enrique Bonilla about the situation (we’re talking relegation!) and end things with some early Liguilla talk.
