Mexico announced the call up to the final training camp before the team goes to the U-17 World Cup. The camp started last week in the Centro de Alto Rendimiento (CAR) in Mexico City and will continue until October 8th when the team leaves for Argentina, where they will play their final tour before traveling to neighbor Brazil where the U-17 World Cup will take place from October 26th to November 17th.
The call up list is as follows:
Goalkeepers: Eduardo Garcia (Chivas), Gerardo Magaña (Morelia), Arturo Delgado (Tigres)
Defenders: Jesus Gomez (Atlas), Victor Guzman (Tijuana), Emilio Lara (America), Rafael Martinez (Atlas), Abraham Flores (Tijuana), Gabriel Martinez (Chivas), Luis Rey (Morelia), Jose Ruiz (Chivas)
Midfielders: Bruce El-Mesmari (Pachuca), Jair Gonzalez (Santos), Eugenio Pizzuto (Pachuca), Edgar Martinez (Monterrey), Gustavo Martinez (Atlas), Kevin Mariscal (Chivas), Bryan Gonzalez (Pachuca), Joel Gomez (Queretaro)
Forwards: Teun Wilke (Herenveen), Efrain Alvarez (LA Galaxy), Israel Luna (Pachuca), Santiago Muñoz (Santos), Leonardo Correa (Atlas), Ali Avila (Monterrey), Carlos Martinez (Atlas), Luis Puente (Chivas)
Mexico will be playing two friendlies during the training camp but the teams they will face haven’t been announced. Moreover, coach Marco Antonio Ruiz will still have to make a cut of six players from the list. Teams in the U-17 World Cup must have 21 members, of which three of them must be goalkeepers.
Mexico got drawn in Group F along with Italy, Paraguay and Solomon Islands. Mexico will make their debut on October 28th against Paraguay.
