Liga MX Femenil is back, and what a week it was. Tigres got back to their dominant ways, Santos Laguna equaled their win total from the last torneo already, and some good performances by Atlas and Pachuca punctuated an exciting first week back.
Cruz Azul 2, Pachuca 4: Cruz Azul’s Norma Gaitan scored the first goal of the torneo in the fourth minute, but it was all downhill from there for La Maquina. Ana López scored two goals in two minutes, Sanjuana Muñoz hit a goal-of-the-year candidate in the 27th minute, and Lizbeth Ángeles cleaned up a rebound off of the cross bar as Pachuca won handily. Sharon Barba got a consolation goal in stoppage time for the hosts, but it’s Muñoz’ goal that will be the one on highlight reels.

Necaxa 0, Santos Laguna 1: Yahaira Flores’ redirection in the 36th minute was enough to for Santos Laguna to get the win over Necaxa. 18 year old goalkeeper Wendy Toledo got her first shutout since a similar 1-0 result against Necaxa to open the 2018 Apertura.
Puebla 1, Veracruz 1: Guillermina Martínez scored a goal befitting a rugby scrum for Puebla in the 60th minute, but it was Ixzayana Viveros header deep into stoppage time that would salvage the draw for Tiburones Rojos.
Monarcas Morelia 1, Atlas 3: Alejandra Franco got the scoring started for Atlas in the 28th minute, and Joana Robles was able to capitalize twice on mistakes by Monarcas goalkeeper Maricruz Gonzalez as Atlas downed Morelia 3-1. Estela Gomez scored the lone goal for the hosts off of a free kick just after the halftime break.
Toluca 1, Lobos BUAP 1: Zaira Miranda sprung Mariel Roman on a great through ball in the 29th minute to give the hosts the lead, but it was a fantastic individual effort in the 68th minute by Itzia Tenahua that would get the tie for Lobos BUAP. Tenhua was able to hold off a defender and find Gloria Narváez, who hit this stunner for the visitors.
