Pumas UNAM will play host to Veracruz as part of Week 1 of the 2019 Liga MX Clausura. The Universitarios will look to improve from their Semifinal finish from last season, and will start their campaign against the team sitting last in the relegation table.

For Pumas, it was a very quiet offseason. Apart from the departures of Matias Alustiza and Alan Acosta, the Universitarios arrive virtually unchanged from the team that got thumped by Club América in the Semifinals.

Veracruz, on the other hand, will look to make one final push to avoid relegation and come into this new tournament following the signings of Colin Kazim-Richards, Cristian Gonzalez, and Edson Garcia.

The last time these two teams met, Pumas took home the victory with goals from Felipe Mora and Pablo Barrera.
