PSV Eindhoven coach Mark Van Bommel had some rather ominous quotes to give about Hirving “Chucky” Lozano’s injury at the end of his side’s 2-1 win over FC Groningen on Saturday. It turns out, however, that Chucky Lozano’s injury is not as bad as he initially feared.
Lozano had to be substituted off just before halftime with what appeared to be a serious head injury, and at the end of the match, Van Bommel was quoted saying that things didn’t look good for the Mexican forward.
On Sunday morning, FOX Sports in the Netherlands reported that Lozano’s injury was not as bad as it was first assumed, and that PSV will take all the necessary protocols so that Lozano makes a full recovery before stepping back into the pitch, given the tricky nature of head injuries.
Before being substituted off, Lozano had scored both of PSV’s goals, his 12th and 13th of the 2018/2019 Eredivisie season.
