Goals from Oribe Peralta and Mateus Uribe helped Club América to a 2-0 win over Lobos BUAP in a lively match at the Estadio Universitario BUAP on Sunday.

Peralta struck in the 30th minute when a cross from the left wing was put into the path of the Mexican veteran to strike his fourth goal of the season.

The goal swung the game, but las Águilas had two good chances to double the lead when a Mateus Uribe header went narrowly above the crossbar and Henry Martin forced a spectacular save from a bicycle kick.

Lobos BUAP had the upper hand after the break, but they had nothing to show for their dominance after a pair of saves from Agustin Marchesin.

Although Lobos BUAP looked like the better side, Club América put an end to any chances of an equalizer when a penalty was called late into injury time. Mateus Uribe stepped up and made no mistake from the spot to seal the win for las Águilas.

The result keeps Club América in the top half of the table with 14 points. Meanwhile, Lobos BUAP remain penultimate in the standings with just four points.
