The midweek games provided some good defensive matchups as well as some displays of offensive brilliance.

Pumas 0, Puebla 0: Due to intense rains at CU, the match was postponed and will be replayed at a date to be determined.

Atlas 4, Necaxa 1: After a scoreless first half, Atlas would get goals from Joana Robles, Fabiola Ibarra, Adriana Iturbide, and Mayra Santana as they cruised to the 4-1 win over Necaxa. Melissa García would get the consolation goal for Necaxa, who sit in last place in Group 2.

Querétaro 0, Chivas 0: Natalia Acuña got her first career shutout and Karen Gómez made three stops as Querétaro and Chivas played to a scoreless draw. Chivas is now just three points behind Tigres (6W 2D 0L) for first place in Group 2.

León 1, Monarcas Morelia 0: Denisse Valdéz got the lone goal and Montserrat González got the shutout as León defeated Monarcas Morelia 1-0. The win is just León’s second of the season.

Veracruz 2, Cruz Azul 0: Things just keep getting worse for Cruz Azul, who are dead last in the general table. Nancy Ojeda and Diana Jiménez scored for Veracruz, while Zitlalli Gazga got her first shutout in her first start of the season.

Lobos BUAP 1, Club América 2: Betzy Cuevas got her fourth goal of the season and Marylin Díaz got her third as América defeated Lobos BUAP in Puebla. Gloria Navárez’ golazo in the 66th would give the home side life, but they were unable to find an equalizer.

Pachuca 1, Toluca 2: Natalia Mauleon’s fifth goal of the season proved to be the game winner as Toluca beat Pachuca 2-1. Esbeydi Salazar got Pachuca’s lone goal, but the Toluca team goal finished by Karen Becerril is simply too good to miss. Mauleon’s pass to Zaira Miranda is perfect, but Miranda’s decision to flick it on to the wide open Becerril was what made this play special.

Santos Laguna 1, Monterrey 2: Monterrey continued their unbeaten run as they defeated Santos Laguna 2-1 thanks to goals from Valeria Valdez and Daniela Solís. Melissa Sosa would draw one back for Santos at the death, but Solís’ sixth goal tied her with Tigres’ Alison González for the league lead.
