After a week off for the international break, Liga MX Femenil returned to action on Friday. They’ll be back in action mid-week too in a rare doble jornada.
Cruz Azul 0, Pumas 2: Melany Villeda extended her shutout streak to 536 minutes and Patricia Jardón and Bibiana Quintos scored for Pumas as they handed Cruz Azul their fifth loss of the season. Jardón and Quintos both scored after the 80 minute mark on high shots that goalkeeper Mariana Zárraga was unable to reach.

Monterrey 1, Atlas 1: Diana Evangelista scored her fifth goal of the season while Ana García got her fourth as Monterrey and Atlas drew at one each. While neither woman got on the scoresheet, both Aylin Aviléz and Fabiola Ibarra looked dangerous for their teams. You can watch the entire match here thanks to the Rayadas Twitter account.

Puebla 3, Tijuana 0: Karla Morales had her second consecutive shutout and fourth on the season as Puebla blanked Xolos Femenil, who are now winless in their last five. Mariela Jimenez had a brace while Alondra Jiménez tacked on a late goal in the heavy defeat.
Club América 0, Pachuca 2: A rare off game for Club América, as Pachuca capitalized on two defensive mistakes to win 2-0. Club América goalkeeper Jaidy Gutiérrez gave up multiple goals for the first time in her career, although the first one was thanks to a poor giveaway by the defense.

Monarcas Morelia 1, Querétaro 2: Sandy Cruzado’s goal in the 87th minute was the difference-maker, as Querétaro downed Monarcas Morelia 2-1. Sofía Alvarez got Querétaro’s opening goal while Nadia Barriga converted a penalty for the lone Monarcas goal.
Toluca 7, Veracruz 1: Liliana Rodríguez and Mariel Roman both had a brace and María Mauleon, Yamile Franco, and Karla Zempoalteca also scored for Toluca, who dismantled Veracruz 7-1. Lissette Mata scored the lone goal for the visitors - a fluke goal that goalkeeper Alondra Ubaldo mishandled. Rodríguez, Roman, and Mauleon are all tied with four goals on the season.

Chivas 1, Tigres UANL 3: A wild game in the pouring rain in Guadalajara that saw both teams finish with nine players. Katty Martínez scored a brace for Tigres with goals in the first and seventh minutes. Chivas would answer when Norma Duarte capitalized on a poor play by Tigres goalkeeper Alejandra Gutierrez. Carolina Jaramillo would get the best of the goals in the 30th.

Things got nasty after the half. In the 61st Tania Morales and Nancy Antonio got tangled up, with Morales clipping Antonio after receiving hands to the face. Both players were sent off with no hesitation. In the 86th minute, Lizbeth Ovalle and María Sánchez got tangled up after a play when Sánchez took Ovalle down with a hard tackle. Ovalle pushed at Sánchez, who then pulled Ovalle back down by the hair before swinging her legs wildly at Ovalle while on her back. All players will most certainly miss multiple games.
