Erick Gutierrez will play alongside Hirving “Chucky” Lozano after PSV Eindhoven confirmed a deal with Pachuca for the 23-year-old Mexican midfielder.
PSV announced the deal following the team’s qualification to the Group Stage of the UEFA Champions League.
Gutierrez has starred for the Tuzos in recent seasons, and although he was not involved in the 2018 World Cup, he was part of coach Juan Carlos Osorio’s 23-man roster for the Mexico National Team. He spent nine years with Pachuca, making a total of 170 appearances with the club and winning one Liga MX title and a CONCACAF Champions League.
“Guti” isn’t the first Mexican signing PSV makes. In the past, the Dutch club has completed signings for Carlos Salcido, Francisco Javier “Maza” Rodriguez, Andres Guardado, Hector Moreno, and most recently the aforementioned “Chucky” Lozano.
PSV confirmed the deal to be for the next five years and is pending a medical.
