The fallback from Mexico’s defeat to Brazil in the Round of 16 of the 2018 World Cup continues, and as expected, coach Juan Carlos Osorio’s future remains in the air. Now, according to a report from Marca Claro Colombia, the former Atletico Nacional coach has made a verbal agreement to be the next United States Men’s National Team coach.
Osorio is set to meet with the FMF bosses in the next few days, and while some inside the Mexican Federation wouldn’t mind Osorio to continue as Mexico boss, rumor has it Osorio has had enough of the criticism and scrutiny of the past few years and is looking for an exit.
Furthermore, the report states that the Colombian National team is also in the running for Juan Carlos Osorio’s signature. Osorio’s verbal agreement with the USMNT would only be nullified in the case an offer to coach Colombia was put on the table. The “Cafeteros” were eliminated in the Round of 16 by England on penalties.
