As the regular season comes to an end, check out the best five goals of the last weekend before the liguilla.

5. Gerardo Rodriguez and Osmar Mares

Once again, we just couldn’t choose between these two goals, so why not include them both? First, the goal that sent shockwaves all throughout the state of Michoacán. Rodriguez’s first goal of the season couldn’t have come at a better time. His back-and-forth with Angel Sepulveda and his tremendous finish afterward catapulted Monarcas into the playoffs. Morelia and Necaxa tied 2-2 on Friday.

Next, Veracruz’s Osmar Mares is very attentive during his team’s free-kick and the former Club America man is rewarded with a game-tying goal against Cruz Azul.

4. Adrian Aldrete

On the contrary, no Cruz Azul players had to be too attentive to their free kick because Aldrete slotted it home in style with five minutes to go. In a game where all the goals came from defenders, La Maquina said goodbye to the Clausura 2018 season with a 2-1 win over Veracruz on Sunday.

3. Erbin Trejo

Who cares if Queretaro’s not making the liguilla? That’s not going to stop Erbin Trejo from dropping dimes like these. His beautiful chipped shot secured a point away from home against Pumas but, luckily for the capital club, didn't stop UNAM from securing a playoff berth. Queretaro and UNAM tied 1-1 on Sunday.

2. Gustavo Bou

Tijuana’s top goalscorer last season was out with injury for most of this season. But he came back at just the right time. A bad pass from Gabriel Hauche unleashed La Pantera and the Argentine snuck right past Talavera for the goal and simultaneously booked Xolos a trip to the liguilla.

1. André-Pierre Gignac

What better environment to score the best goal of the week than in a Clásico? What better venue to do it in than El Volcán? What better player to score it than French icon André-Pierre Gignac? Perfect recipe for a goal of the week.
