T-5. Rodrigo Salinas & Marcelo Diaz

We just couldn’t choose between both of these Sunday goals, so here they are both. First, Toluca moved the ball all the way up the field and it slowly made its way to Salinas who left a Veracruz defender in the dust before slotting it home with power for his first of two goals against Los Tiburones Rojos.

Just a few hours later, Chelo Diaz answered all Pumas fans’ prayers when his free kick found the back of the net to help UNAM get the victory against second-place Santos Laguna and earn the Ariazules a spot amongst the top eight teams in the league.

4. Pablo Gonzalez

Puebla’s playoff chances may be slim, but nothing beats getting three points at the expense of Club America. Gonzalez had Emanuel Aguilera left to beat and changed direction a couple times before letting the ball zoom past the America defender and Marchesin. The 25-year-old’s golazo was the last for Los Camoteros as they beat Las Aguilas 3-1 on Friday.

3. Celso Ortiz

The Paraguayan’s incredible volley opened the scoring in a game few Lobos BUAP fans will forget. The newly-promoted team was officially relegated back to the Ascenso MX after their 4-0 loss to Rayados on Saturday.

2. Elias Hernandez

The goals came late in this game, but boy, were they beauties. Hernandez began the celebration for Leon after his low free-kick snuck its way past the wall of defenders and Lajud in the 81st minute.

1. Miller Bolaños

The party didn’t last long in Guanajuato. Just two minutes after La Fiera took the lead, Tijuana’s star Ecuadorian striker left a defender planted before shooting an ultra-powerful ball past three Leon players to tie things up. If more of these goals come along next weekend, Xolos are bound to secure their berth in the liguilla. Tijuana and Leon tied 1-1 on Saturday.
