Jonathan dos Santos, Jurgen Damm and Javier Aquino have been withdrawn from the Mexico side that will take on Iceland and Croatia in this month’s upcoming friendlies.

According to a statement from the Mexican federation, Jonathan dos Santos was injured playing for his club, LA Galaxy, and will be unavailable for Mexico’s next two matches. In his place, Mexico coach Juan Carlos Osorio has called up Chivas defender Oswaldo Alanis.
In the case of Jurgen Damm and Javier Aquino, they were ruled out for Friday’s match against Iceland, and since, Tigres coach Ricardo “Tuca Ferretti has admitted there is no chance they will recover in time make it to Tuesday’s game against Croatia. Both players were injured in Tigres’ scoreless draw with Chivas over the weekend.
Mexico are set to play Iceland at Levi’s Stadium on Friday before traveling to Dallas, Texas to take on Croatia. Both games will serve as warmups ahead of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
