Club América travel to la Sultana del Norte to take on the star studded Tigres UANL in the most highly anticipated Liga MX matchup of Jornada 6. The first true road trip for las Águilas comes on the heels of their best performance of 2018 Clausura; a dominant 5-1 victory of bottom of the table Lobos BUAP.

Las Águilas will be hoping that Henry Martin can put in another performance like last weekend’s match against Lobos BUAP. Martin was involved in all five of Club América’s netting a hat trick and assisting on the other two.

Tigres UANL, on the other hand, come into the game on the back of a 2-0 defeat against Pumas UNAM on the road in Mexico City. The match was easily the worst performance of the tournament for the defending Liga MX champions. Anything and everything that could have gone wrong did exactly that. Poor defending, even worse keeping, and an overall lackluster effort characterized the game for Tigres UANL.

The squad from Monterrey will have to make significant improvements off of last weekend’s trip to Mexico City if they want to take three points from their matchup with Club América. Big names like Edu Vargas, Enner Valencia, and André-Pierre Gignac will have to show why they get paid the big bucks. Failure to do so and there’s certainly no way that Tigres UANL will take anything from the marquee matchup of Jornada 6 against a rejuvenated Club América.
