The dates of Mexico’s games, March 22 and March 26, were revealed earlier this month, with the first rival rumored to be Peru or Chile.
El Tri will be reunited with their former manager Juan Carlos Osorio, who spent a total of three polarizing years in charge of the Mexico National Team. Osorio was named manager of Paraguay in the month of September after he rejected a contract extension with the Mexican Federation.
Coincidentally, Santa Clara was the site of Osorio’s worst defeat with the Mexico National Team, a 7-0 thumping at the hands of Chile.
It is expected that Mexico will name Juan Carlos Osorio’s replacement, Gerardo “Tata” Martino, as their new manager in the month of January.
