There is still everything to play for at the Estadio Azteca when Club América host Toluca this Sunday night in their Second Leg of the 2018 Liga MX Apertura Quarterfinals.

The First Leg between these two teams ended in dramatic fashion after Alexis Vega’s injury-time goal earned the Diablos Rojos a valuable 2-2 draw at home. Though Toluca conceded two away goals, Vega’s goal changed the complete complexion of the Second Leg, with the Diablos Rojos needing a simple win by any scoreline to go through.

While Club América have been near-impossible to beat at the Estadio Azteca, Toluca do have a historical edge and will like their chances heading into this match. In fact, Toluca have won twice in their last four visits to the Azteca. Moreover, in their last five Liguilla visits, the Diablos Rojos have won three times, including two previous Quarterfinal matchups.

Indeed, Club América will have their work cut out. They’ll have to show exactly why they are one of the favorites to lift the title or suffer one of the surprise exits of the tournament. The pressure is officially on for Miguel Herrera and his team.
