All but guaranteed a spot in the Liguilla, Santos Laguna (8W 4D 2L) comes in to their match against Querétaro FC (5W 4D 5L) looking to take the superlider spot from Club América (8W 4D 2L). Santos is having a good run of form, going unbeaten in their last six.

Part of Santos’ success lies in their vaunted offense. Julio Furch leads Liga MX with eleven goals while Jonathan Rodríguez is fourth with seven, and as a team Santos sits fourth in goals scored. They have scored in every Liga MX game they’ve played this season.

Querétaro also has a top goalscorer of their own, with Camilo Sanvezzo sitting third in Liga MX with eight goals. He’s been in fantastic form, flourishing in manager Rafael Puente, Jr.’s offense alongside Edson Puch and Liga MX debutante Marcel Ruíz. Puch however will not be playing this week, having picked up two yellow cards within the span of just a few seconds for arguing with the referee in the match against Toluca (8W 1D 5L).

Already fairly one-dimensional in the attack, the loss of Puch could make it that much easier for the Santos defense. Sanvezzo has scored eight of Querétaro’s fourteen goal this season however, and he’s proven he can hoist the team onto his shoulders when needed
