A Henry Martin equalizer gave Club América a 1-1 draw against Toluca at the Estadio Azteca after the visitors had taken an early lead.

Alexis Vega fired the Diablos Rojos into the lead after less than two minutes with a wonderful right-footed finish past Agustin Marchesin.

Club América were stunned, but after an initial 15 minutes of dominance from Toluca, las Águilas went on the front foot.

In the 34th minute, Henry Martin found himself unmarked at the edge of the box to score América’s equalizer.

After going into the break tied, Toluca were stepping up the pace and appeared to have taken the lead when Vega smashed home a headed down pass following a free-kick. After later review, with the help of VAR, the goal was reversed for a clear offsides.

At the end, neither side was able to conjure up a late winner, as both teams settled for a 1-1 draw. A result that momentarily keeps América at the top of the league table.
