Hector Herrera’s future may lay in Italy. According to Portuguese newspaper A BOLA, the FC Porto midfielder is a top target for several Italian clubs, with Juventus being the favorite to win the race for the Mexican midfielder’s signature.
Herrera’s contract is up during the summer, which means that teams could agree to a pre-contract with the Mexican as soon as the start of the January transfer window.
Herrera was previously willing to negotiate a contract extension with FC Porto, but his economic demands just proved too much for the Portuguese champions.
Amongst other teams interested in the 28-year-old are Inter Milan and AS Roma. In the past, Herrera was even linked to a possible move to Real Madrid, although it was rumored he wasn’t of the liking of club president Florentino Perez.
Herrera is going on his eighth season with FC Porto, serving currently as captain of the team.
