Call it the start of the Ricardo “Tuca” Ferretti farewell tour if you must, the first of two friendlies between Mexico and Argentina will be played this Friday at the Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes in Cordoba, Argentina.
While all signs point to Gerardo “Tata” Martino being named Mexico’s new manager in a few weeks. Mexico still have two more games to play under interim coach Ricardo Ferretti.
Currently, El Tri arrive on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Chile and come into this game missing several key players, including the injured Hirving “Chucky” Lozano.
Like Mexico, Argentina are also suffering from a number of key absences, most noticeably Lionel Messi, who has decided to take some time off from the national team following La Albiceleste’s underwhelming performance at the 2018 World Cup.
If one Mexico vs Argentina game is not enough for you, both teams will clash again in four days, though it is expected Ferretti uses his “first string” side only in the first game.
