There were plenty of Mexican players that saw action this Thursday in the Europa League.

Andres Guardado captained Real Betis in their easy 3-0 win over F91 Dudelange. Guradado was subbed out in the 59th minute to a rousing standing ovation from the home crowd at the Benito Villamarin.

Meanwhile, Diego Reyes was a starter in Fenerbahce’s 2-0 win over Spartak Trnava. Islam Slimani was responsible for both of Fenerbache’s goals, as Diego Reyes was subbed out in the 76th minute.

Mexico national team goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa was also a participant in Thursday’s matches, playing all 90 minutes in Standard Liege’s 2-1 win over Akhisar Belediyespor. Despite the three points, Ochoa didn’t have the best of games, with his error leading to the Turkish’s side only goal.

Finally, Miguel Layun played 13 minutes in Villarreal’s six goal thriller versus Spartak Moscow. Layun came on in the 77th minute, as his side settled for a 3-3 draw with the Russian giants.
