With just two weeks left in the Liga MX Femenil season, the playoff picture is all but set. América and Pachuca have clinched in Group 1, while Tigres, Chivas, Monterrey, and Atlas are all guaranteed in Group 2. Positioning aside, there are two spots left in Group 1 for Toluca, Pumas, and Puebla. Puebla are still alive mathematically, sitting five points behind UNAM and six behind Toluca.
Cruz Azul 3, Club Tijuana 1: It took until week 15, but Cruz Azul finally got their first win of the 2018 Apertura, downing Xolos 3-1. Sharon Barba had a hat trick for La Maquina, while Alondra Carmargo scored her first goal of the season for Tijuana, who is now winless in their last twelve.
Necaxa 0, Querétaro 1: Sandy Cruzado’s goal in the eighth minute was the difference maker, as Querétaro got their fourth win of the season at the expense of Necaxa.
Club América 2, Veracruz 0: Club América remained atop Group 1 with their win over Veracruz. Goals from Marylin Díaz and Daniela Espinosa extended América’s seven game unbeaten streak and gives the club a one goal lead in differential over second place Pachuca heading into the final week.
Lobos BUAP 2, Pachuca 3: Pachuca continued their late surge, holding off Lobos BUAP to stay tied with América in points in Group 1. Karla Nieto got her second goal of the season, Lisbeth Ángeles got her fifth, and Mónica Ocampo got her eighth in the winning effort while Karen Mejía and Gloria Narváez scored for Lobos.
Monarcas Morelia 1, Tigres UANL 5: Five different players scored for Tigres in a dominant performance. Goals from Belén Cruz, Katty Martínez, Greta Espinoza, María Elizondo, and Lizbeth Ovalle puts the Superlider within reach for Tigres, who enjoy a four poin t lead in Group 2 over Chivas. Dalia Molina got the lone goal for Monarcas.
Toluca 1, UNAM Pumas 2: Mariel Roman put Toluca up early, but goals from Karime Abud and Ricla Rajunov would give Pumas the victory and pull them within one point in the standings of Toluca in Group 1.
Monterrey 0, León 1: Perla Navarrete’s goal was all it took as León beat Monterrey. It wouldn’t be enough however for León, who are eliminated from the playoffs (while Monterrey are in).
Santos Laguna 1, Atlas 1: Fátima Delgado put Atlas up early, however Melissa Sosa’s goal in the 75th minute would salvage the draw for Santos. Atlas could have leapfrogged Monterrey in the standings, however with the draw they sit one point behind with two games left in the season.
