Monterrey 5, Monarcas Morelia 0: Diana Evangelista scored her seventh goal of the season giving her sole possession of the Liga MX Femenil lead as Monterrey crushed Monarcas 5-0 at El Barrial. Alicia Cervantes had a brace and Mónica Monsiváis got her fourth of the season, while Monarcas’ Eleisa Santos had the misfortune of an own goal. Club América 3, Cruz Azul 0: Goals from Marylin Díaz, Lucero Cuevas, and Betzy Cuevas saw Club América win the Clásico Joven match against Cruz Azul. Maricruz González made one save to retain the clean sheet in her first game of the season. Lucero Cuevas however suffered a serious injury from a blow to the head at the end of the match, although no replays of the incident are readily available. Cuevas tweeted out that she was ok, a CT scan revealing that there weren’t any “anomalies”. We wish Lucero a speedy recovery.
Veracruz 0, Pumas UNAM 3: Karime Abud had a pair of headers and Diana Gómez scored her first goal of the season as Pumas downed Veracruz 3-0. Goalkeeper Melany Villeda recorded her fifth shutout in nine games. Pumas are currently fourth in Group 1 with a game in hand against Toluca and América and two games in hand on Pachuca.
Pachuca 1, Club Tijuana 0: Cynthia Rodríguez’ first goal of the season was all it took for Pachuca to down Xolos Femenil 1-0. Alejandria Godínez got her fifth shutout in ten games, needing just one save on the evening.
