Okay, let’s try this again.
Originally, the Monterrey v Zacatepec match was scheduled for last week, but because of some truly torrential downpours that left the pitch looking like a small lake, the match had to be called off and rescheduled to today.
The storms continued last weekend in Monterrey, as the Liga MX match between Monterrey and Club Tijuana was called in the 86th minute as the rain made the match a farce and the pitch because even more dangerous than it already was.
The injury list for Monterrey is already far too long, and hopefully the pitch will be in better condition tonight than it has been for some time, as Monterrey can’t afford to miss anymore players. The forecast calls for a chance of rain, but it doesn’t look like there will be heavy thunderstorms that have dominated the past two scheduled matches.

Monterrey is coming off a good win against Xolos, and they will be looking to take some momentum in the final weeks of the Liga MX season. Expect to see a rather changed lineup, probably extremely similar to the team that was announced for the originally scheduled match.
If you haven’t seen a Copa MX match for Monterrey so far this season, Daniel Lajud, number 286, has looked pretty good in the chances he’s been given, so perhaps he will try and make a case to get more playing time down the stretch in the first team while the club is missing a number of key players due to injury.
