In the first meeting between Dorados de Sinaloa and Xolos de Tijuana since Diego Armando Maradona was named manager of the Ascenso MX outfit, the Sinaloenses earned a shock 1-0 win at the Estadio Caliente.
Xolos de Tijuana, who didn’t take this game very lightly, started the match with a lot of their first-team regulars and dominated the first few minutes of the game.
But there very best opportunity didn’t come until late in the first period when Gaspar Servio was forced to a double save in the 44th minute.
The second half was a completely different story, and the visitors came close to taking the lead when they struck the post shortly after the break.
In the 80th minute, Dorados would strike first when a shot by Edson Rivera from outside the box was deflected into the back of the net.
