La Liga and Serie A kicked off their seasons, making it a full slate of action in Europe. Mexicans made their presence known throughout the continent while the Mexicans in MLS failed to see any action.

Jona Dos Santos (Galaxy): Off this weekend, play the Columbus Crew on8/23

Gio Dos Santos (Galaxy): Off this weekend, play 8/23

Cubo Torres (Dynamo):

Carlos Vela (Real Sociedad): Came on in the 57th minute and played well on the right wing. He had 23 touches, 1 key pass, and even chipped in with 2 tackles.

Andres Guardado (Real Betis): Started and went the full 90 vs Barcelona but Betis lost 2-0. El Principito sat in front of his defense for most of the game and connected on 42 of 48 passes. That includes 6 out of 9 long balls.

Hector Moreno (AS Roma): Made the bench but did not see any minutes.

Raul Jimenez (Benfica): As transfer rumors continue to swirl, Raul came off the bench in the 67th minute to help Benfica win 5-0. The former Club America striker had an assist as he battles to get more minutes.

Miguel Layun (Porto): Made another short cameo, 6 minutes. Going to be hard for him to find minutes behind Telles. WhoScored has Alex Telles rated as the second highest player in Portugal. He needs to find a way out of Porto if he wants to see the field.

Tecatito Corona (Porto): Started and went 67 minutes. Had 2 key passes and was active for Porto’s attack.

Hector Herrera (Porto): Was left on the bench this weekend.

Diego Reyes (Porto): Was left on the bench this weekend.

Raul Gudino (Porto): More rumors about him moving to Vitesse but nothing confirmed.

Joao Maleck (Porto B/U19): Did not play in Porto U19’s season opener vs Rio Ave.

Antonio Briseno (CD Feirense): CD Feirense takes on Pacos de Ferreira on 8/21.

Hirving Lozano (PSV): Followed up his MOTM performance last week with another. WhoScored has him as the highest rated player in the Eredivisie, 8.87 vs 8.54 for #2. He chipped in with his second goal and his first Eredivisie assist as PSV beat NAC Breda 4-1.

Uriel Antuna (FC Copenhagen): Will be officially presented on Monday.

Carlos Salcedo (Eintracht Frankfurt): Did not make the game day roster but is close to making his debut.

Marco Fabian (Eintracht Frankfurt): Announced he will have surgery that will keep him out for 3 months.

Guillermo Ochoa (Standard Liege): Had 3 saves but his defense was of little help and Standard Liege lost 4-0. Rough day for Paco Memo Ochoa.

Omar Govea (Royal Mouscron): Scored an equalizer from outside the box. Now has 2 goals and an assist on the year, playing as a defensive midfielder.

Lalo Herrera (Rangers): Did not make the game day roster.

Carlos Pena (Rangers): Made the bench but did not see any action.

Estrella de la Semana

Chicharito (West Ham): Despite a rough Premier League opener, Chicharito is never far from getting on a goal scoring run. Chicha opened his West Ham account with a brace. The Mexican International scored both goals as the Hammers were playing a man down. WhoScored gave him the MOTM award but it was not enough as West Ham went down 3-2 on a late penalty. Scoring chances might be more limited than they were at Leverkusen but Chicharito is off to a good start with his new club.
