Tigres (5W 4D 6L) had a tough loss in the CONCACAF Champions League final against Pachuca on Wednesday. Today, they host Tijuana (8W 4D 3L) who are welcoming back manager Miguel Herrera after a five match ban.

UANL Tigres

While Tigres has designs on being a truly international powerhouse, they need to quickly refocus on their current (domestic) league. Currently in 10th place in the Clausura, Tigres has to look to move on from their disheartening loss on Wednesday night against Los Tuzos. They’ll be playing their ninth game since April 1. Leading goalscorer Andre-Pierre Gignac has four goals in both Liga MX and CCL competitions over that stretch.

Club Tijuana

After serving his five match ban for an altercation with fans and berating referees in their March 17 match against Santos, Miguel Herrera returns to the Xolos bench. In Piojo’s absence, Xolos has really come into their own, getting 11 out of 15 possible points and winning the last three matches by a combined score of 5-1. While a win won’t clinch the superlider for Xolos, it’ll ensure they’ll finish no lower than third.
