Chivas remained top of the Liga MX table with a 2-0 victory over relegation favorites Veracruz.
After a scoreless first half, Alan Pulido was credited for opening the scoring in the 57th minute when he skipped his way into the edge of the area before smashing in his fourth goal of the tournament.

Matias Almeyda’s side began to dictate the tempo of the game, with Veracruz unable to crate any clear-cut opportunities.
Angel Zaldivar then made sure of the points with two minutes to go in the game. A Edwin Aris Hernandez corner ended with the young Mexican striker heading home the 2-0.

Chivas’ attacking credentials have been questioned in recent tournaments, but in this tournament, Alan Pulido, Rodolfo Pizarro, and Angel Zaldivar are all tied for third highest scorer in the league with four goals each.
Victory helped Chivas stay top of the league table with 20 points in 10 matches.
