Rodolfo Pizarro earned Chivas a point in dramatic fashion, firing home a last-moment goal to secure a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Santos Laguna on Sunday.
Just as the match looked to be slipping through Chivas’ fingers, the 22-year-old made his presence known to rescue a valuable point.
Chivas pushed hard for the opening goal, but it set to be a frustrating evening for the Rebaño Sagrado when Rodolfo Cota was caught out as Julio Furch headed home the breakthrough on 58 minutes.
In the 76th minute, though, things got complicated for the visitors when Diego de Buen was sent off for the Guerreros.
A more assertive Chivas emerged following the sending off, and Javier Eduardo “La Chofis” Lopez had a header denied by the woodwork.
But Pizarro had other ideas from the resulting rebound and directed home to the joy of Chivas fans.
Next, Chivas take on rivals Atlas in the Clasico Tapatio, while Santos Laguna return to Torreon to host Cruz Azul.
