In the last Group 1 match of the first round of the Copa MX, Tijuana will host Cimarrones de Sonora with their fate firmly in their own hands. A win or a draw and they’re in, having won the Group and automatically advancing to the knockout round. A loss, and it could come down to goal differential or goals scored to see if they advance (first place), are one of the top seven second-place teams, or can focus solely on Liga MX.

Xolos put together a good win against Monterrey at home on Friday night, and won their last Copa MX match against Corracaminos UAT last week (albeit in less convincing fashion), so the optimism should be running high with the club.

They’d do themselves well not to overlook Cimarrones, who won their last meeting against Xolos 1-0 back on January 17. Sonora hasn’t won in Copa MX since, but they’re sitting in third place in the Ascenso MX just two points behind Zacatepec.
