Jonathan Bornstein opens auto mechanic shop

Because Liga MX wasn’t already awesome and weird enough

If just you happen to be in the Mexican state of Querétaro and think “I’d love to get some work done on my car and perhaps meet a footballer” then you are in luck! Gallos Blancos and United States National Team right back Jonathan Bornstein is opening Bornstein Automotive in Juriquilla, which is on the northern edge of Santiago de Querétaro.

Google maps shows this used to be a Construrama (a wholesaler of construction materials in Mexico and Central America), and there’s even a taco joint next door.

The shop has its own twitter account, and it’s actually pretty impressive - the mechanic I go to only has two lifts and zero professional footballers (Henry’s here in Wilmington better step up their game).

The grand opening is on Wednesday, and Bornstein will be signing autographs at the event - I wonder if this makes him Mexico’s equivalent to Mike Piazza, who owns three Honda dealerships in suburban Philadelphia?

Anyway best of luck to Jonathan and Bornstein Automotive!
