Hirving “Chucky” Lozano scored a brilliant hat-trick as Pachuca recorded a 4-2 win at Leon in their opening game of the 2017 Liga MX Clausura.
Fernando Navarro opened the scoring for the hosts before Chucky leveled with a sublime effort from outside the box.
A fine volley from Maxi Moralez put the scoring briefly at 2-1 in favor of Leon, but a Franco Jara penalty left both teams even heading into the break.
The second half was the Erick Gutierrez and Chucky Lozano show. First, Gutierrez, who came on as a second half substitute, unleashed Lozano into space, and the Mexican international made no mistake to fire the ball past William Yarbrough to give Tuzos the lead.
Ten minutes later, Lozano and Gutierrez connected for a second time. Gutierrez picked out Lozano from past the halfway line for Chucky to complete his hat-trick and earn the visitors their first three points of the season.
