Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez’s days at Bayer Leverkusen could be numbered. According to German newspaper Bild, the Mexican international is on the chopping block and ready to be sold for 25 million Euros.
The 28-year-old has not scored a goal in an official match in 1,095 minutes, but it’s his attitude outside the pitch that has Bayer Leverkusen fans worried. Bild paints a rather grim picture of Chicharito, as “selfish” and refusing to be a team player, highlighting his disinterest and absence in the team’s yearly Christmas party.
Whether all of this is true or not comes as a surprise. While Chicharito is a famous target of criticism from Mexican media, this marks the first time a major news outlet outside of Mexico takes a hard stance against the striker. Of course, this is Bild we are talking about and all of this should be taken with a grain of salt.
Currently, Bayer Leverkusen and Chicharito are in Orlando, Florida, where they will take part in their third consecutive Florida Cup.
All things considered, what do you think? Is it guten tag Chicharito?
