Mexico vs. Honduras, World Cup 2018 qualifying: Time, TV schedule and live stream

The Mexico national team play their first game at the Estadio Azteca in five months as they play host to Honduras in their final World Cup qualifier before the hexagonal.

For El Tri, the work might already be done, but pressure still exists on manager Juan Carlos Osorio and this team. Even if Mexico’s win over El Salvador last week provided some relief, this is the first time Mexico play at the Azteca since El Tri’s infamous defeat at the Copa America Centenario. The bare fact is many fans are still not happy with this team, and this is the chance for Mexico to appeal to their own crowd and start mending their relationship.

Honduras, though, always offers a tough match-up. For Los Catrachos, this is anything but a routine game. Although Honduras can still qualify to the hexagonal with a defeat, Jorge Luis Pinto’s side will need to earn at least a draw for reassurance. If his team needs a general lift in confidence, Honduras’ last visit to the Estadio Azteca ended in victory. They only need a point this time around.
