Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez scored his 100th European goal on Tuesday night as he helped Bayer Leverkusen settle for a 1-1 draw at Monaco in action of the Champions League.
The Mexican striker slipped through the defense to appear unmarked before heading in the breakthrough in the 73rd minute. The header was Chicharito’s fourth goal in four days and gave the former Chivas star his 100th competitive goal since arriving to Europe.
Unfortunately for Chicharito and his team, their hard luck in Europe continued and the Ligue 1 side equalized in the dying seconds of the game through a Kamil Glik volley.
By drawing with Monaco, Bayer Leverkusen have now earned two straight draws and sit third in Group E of the Champions League. Their next match is this Saturday when they host Borrusia Dortmund, who also drew 2-2 with Real Madrid elsewhere in the Champions League.
