Club Tijuana retook the top of the Liga MX table with a 2-1 win over Santos in Torreón.
Tijuana pressured early, and this strategy would pay dividends in the 31st minute, as Guido Rodríguez got a head on the end of a Dayro Moreno free kick, beating Agustín Marchesín and putting Xolos up 1-0.

This seemed to get Santos going as they countered with several good chances, including a shot by Brian Rabello that his flush on the post and bounced back into play. It wouldn’t be long though before Santos was able to capitalize on this flurry, with Carlos Izquerdoz beating Federico Vilar.

As good as the shot was, the pass along the seam by Fredy Hinestroza was absolutely inch-perfect and set Izquerdoz up perfectly, sending the teams in level at the half.
At the start of the second half, Milton Caraglio was inches from sneaking one in along the post off of a free kick.

Caraglio was able to help the cause though, setting up Avilés Hurtado on what would be the game winning goal.

The ball movement on this goal by Xolos is simply perfect, and really embodies their play - crosses to stretch out the defense that look as effortless as a five yard touch.
Martín Bravo had a chance to tie it late, however his attempt to chip Federico Vilar was just over the bar.
Tijuana now sits a point up on Tigres with six games left in the 2016 Apertura. Xolos face Atlas at home on Friday, while Santos will travel to Querétaro and play on Saturday.
