Toluca vs. Chivas: Highlights

Chivas’ five-game unbeaten run came to an end as Matias Almeyda’s side suffered a 2-1 defeat at Toluca.

The Diablos Rojos got off to a dream start when Fernando Uribe gave the hosts the lead with less than two minutes gone after a quick breakaway led by Pablo Barrientos.

Toluca then showed their recent run of form has been no fluke and they doubled their lead seven minutes from halftime when a penalty was called for a Rodolfo Cota foul on Fernado Uribe. Barrientos stepped up and slotted past Cota .

But Chivas responded by outplaying Toluca in the second half and pulled within one in the 76th minute through second half substitute Alan Pulido.

Chivas continued to create chances and it took a series of blocks from the Toluca defense to preserve Toluca’s lead.

Next, the triumphant Diablos Rojos visit Cruz Azul on Tuesday, while Chivas will look to return to winning ways when they host Tigres at the Estadio Chivas.
