Pachuca is coming off of a historic win in the CONCACAF Champions League, where they blew out Police United FC of Belize by a score of 11-0. Hirving Chucky Lozano scored four of the eleven and was named CONCACAF’s Player of the Week. Unfortunately for Los Tuzos, their luck in Liga MX play hasn’t been as good. They haven’t won a match since August 13, squandering a hot start only to sit in seventh in the table. They’re also coming off of a midweek match in Belize, which will not do the hosts any favors.

Tijuana also traveled during the week, and though Tijuana to Toluca is a long way, Toluca is only about 2 hours drive from Pachuca so Xolos wind up traveling less than Pachuca this week. Tijuana also has been hot in Liga MX, although they’re starting to cool off just a bit. Xolos are still top of the table and haven’t lost in Liga MX competition since August 12, they looked rather flat in their 0-0 draw against Monterrey. Tijuana elected to rest most of their starters, so look for most of the first team players to get the start against Tuzos.
